Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital (Fujian Maternity and Child Hospital) is located at 18 Daoshan Road. It is the first tertiary Grade A maternal and child health hospital in China and one of the first baby friendly hospitals in the country. It covers an area of approximately 29700 square meters, with a building area of 89700 square meters. It has 1000 designated beds and 950 actual open beds. The approved staffing of the entire institution is 1346, with a total of 1583 employees as of December 31, 2019, including 1203 internal staff, 380 external staff, 1478 professional and technical personnel, and 226 senior experts, including 63 senior and 163 deputy senior staff. Ten senior experts enjoy special government allowances. In 2019, there were 1.9235 million outpatient visits, 68800 discharges, 21700 deliveries, and 22600 surgeries in hospitals, an increase of 4.93%, 21.51%, 18.62%, and 21.91% respectively compared to the same period in 2018. According to the comprehensive index ranking of the operation and development status of national maternal and child health institutions released by the National Maternal and Child Health Center in 2012, the comprehensive strength of Fujian Maternal and Child Health Hospital ranks among the top five provincial-level maternal and child health hospitals in China. Ranked 5th in the specialized series of obstetrics and gynecology hospitals (including maternal and child health hospitals) in the performance evaluation of national tertiary public hospitals in 2018.
Fujian Maternal and Child Health Hospital follows the working principle of "health care as the center, reproductive health as the goal, combining health care with clinical practice, targeting groups, grassroots and prevention as the main focus", and is responsible for providing technical guidance for women's and children's health care in the province, as well as diagnosis, treatment, teaching, and scientific research for common, frequently occurring, and difficult diseases in women and children.
Obtain honors
On May 28, 2018, it was selected as a candidate for the "13th Fujian Provincial Civilized Unit" by the Civilization Office of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and was publicly announced to accept public supervision.
In November 2020, selected for the 6th National Civilized Unit List.
In August 2021, the Emergency Department of Fujian Maternal and Child Health Hospital was named the "20th National Youth Civilization Unit".
In September 2021, it was selected as an advanced collective for implementing the National Women and Children's Development Program in Fujian Province.
In May 2022, the neonatology department of Fujian Maternal and Child Health Hospital was awarded the honorary title of "Fujian Youth May Fourth Medal Collective" at the 19th session.
In June 2022, the Epidemic Prevention and Control Youth Strike Team (Epidemic Prevention and Control) of Fujian Maternal and Child Health Hospital was commended as the 6th "Fujian Provincial Youth May Fourth Medal Collective".
In June 2022, the Youth League Committee of Fujian Maternal and Child Health Hospital was selected for the 2021 "Fujian Provincial Government May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee (Youth League General Branch, Youth League Branch)" list.
